Escape with the vibrant energy and passion of Bollywood and Indo-Western dance, right here in Baker! People of all ages, shapes, sizes and fitness levels are welcome. With dance experience or none at all, we offer classes for everyone. Come prepared to have fun, shake your shoulders and swing your hips to this contagious fusion style of dance!
The contemporary Bollywood dance style is a fusion of traditional and folk dances, classical Indian dance-like Kathak and Bharatanatyam, and western influences-jazz, hip hop, and modern. Much of the focus is on rhythm, energy, and expressions, as the dances illustrate significant moments in the movie narrative. Come for a fun workout, make friends, and express your inner Bollywood star!
Each class offers an injury-preventative warm-up of light cardio, integrated with stretching and preparatory technical exercises for indian dance movement, in an informal fun setting. Following warm-up, students will learn choreography to popular Bollywood songs and Indian chart-toppers, progressing over several classes.
